Porta Phone has been supplying Rugby and Soccer officials around the world with simple sound wireless solutions for decades. Today E-Pak full duplex intercoms take our expertise in wireless system design to a whole new level to meet the specific needs of officials, referees and umpires.

At the heart of each Porta Phone referee intercom are the E-Pak full duplex transceivers and Lazer-Pro headsets. The System allows a crew of up to 9 referees to talk simultaneously within a 300-yard range. E-Pak are compact radios that weigh only 2.5 oz, and are worn clipped to clothing or tucked inside a pants or shirt pocket. What makes the system unique in the sports communication industry is that the headset links to the radio by a separate wireless signal eliminating wires and cables. Another feature is that messages are received by bone conduction vibration through the skin rather than via traditional in ear speakers. This leaves referees’ ears uncovered and hygienically safe. Lazer-Pro are IP 65 lab certified which means sweatproof, dustproof, rain proof, and uniquely designed for officiating crews.

EVADE wireless owe their name to a digital operating system known as Frequency Hopping. E-PAK continuously monitor the airwaves and automatically switch to channels that are clear whenever necessary to easily avoid interference. This smart engineering is a military technique that dodges or “EVADES” other wireless systems and provides officials crystal clear communication.
